The challenge

Transparent information at a glance

Target with Joh. It was Clouth's aim to provide general information and key figures specifically where they were needed. Ideally, the content should be light — as it were in passing — on a digital “bulletin board” can be recorded. Because timely and open internal communication increases productivity and thus actively contributes to the company's success.

In the course of the decision-making process, it becomes clear that the solution also MES properties should have. “The systems used in the company so far were not flexible enough and did not allow any interactive inputs. As a result, the data was not up to date, we were unable to plan agilely and the employees working shifts had no knowledge of the current state of production at the end of the shift,” explains Jordan Marlin, Manager Operational Technology, Industry 4.0 Engineering at BWI.

solution

Very enthusiastic

During his research, Marc-Phillip Stüttem, head of IT at Joh. Clouth GmbH & Co. KG, on the all-in-one Peakboard solution, which consists of software and hardware. After a first successful test of the software, a test version was requested in order to be able to test the created screens directly in the individual departments.

“Right from the start, we were impressed by the simple operation of the Peakboard Designer and that complex designs can still be created with LUA,” reports Mr. Stüttem.

The first designs and screens were created correspondingly quickly: “We first tried out different layouts and saw what the Peakboard Designer could do. But after about a day, we had the first screen we wanted ready to use. The quick response time and implementation of new functions from Peakboard Support were also excellent,” explains Mr. Stüttem.
